Normally I would be putting some pictures on here but my laptop got a virus, thanks to myspace.! So, I'm on my main computer and not able to upload pictures until the laptop is fixed.
Mac had a wonderful Christmas! It was fun to watch her play with the packages. She got some books, blocks, clothes, a tooth, and a cold. Poor thing is miserable! She also got a super cute monkey jack-in-the-box from Auntie Lisa. Uncle Jason put money toward her college education!! The only thing she didn't get was to see and meet her Grandparents from Virginia. Soon though hopefully! She loves to talk to them on the phone.
Pictures to be posted soon!!

See my new tooth? Please don't mind the booger, I won't let mommy near my nose.
Look, I pulled myself up all by myself!! I surprised mommy when she walked in to check on me. I haven't done this before.

Oh my goodness time is going by so fast. Mac is almost 8 months, I just can't believe it. I was reminded of how little she use to be (wait, she still is little!) as I was going through her newborn clothes. Every time I look at her I am reminded of what a blessing we have here. Mackenzie has been repeating some of the sounds we're making like "buh", "da", "up", and "bah" and now she is waving! Not all the time, but she'll sit there at wave and kiss herself in the mirror. Her 3rd tooth has come in also. Can someone stop time and keep her little? Please????? We went grocery shopping today and she got to ride in the cart like a big girl, she loved it.

Mackenzie had her 6 month well baby check up this week. She weighed in at 13lbs 12oz and is now 25 3/4 long. Her doctor said she is right on track developmentally and will probably be crawling in the next week. We can see she's getting close! Last night she started getting up on her knees for a second or two. Other things she has mastered are sitting up, rolling all over the place, and stage 1 foods. She LOVES all fruits, especially pears and prunes. She hates greens. She also likes sweet potatoes and squash. She loves to grab everything that you are holding. She is also getting better at sleeping through the night. It's been a little hard since she seems to have a cold all the time. Thanks to daycare. So, it's time to really start babyproofing the house. The doctor also said we can give her cheerios. We tried that and decided it be best to break them in half for right now. She doesn't know to put them in her mouth just yet. Mackenzie is also little miss vocal and it seems like she's singing all the time. The one thing that melts my heart is when I pick her up after a changing, she'll put her hand on my cheek and give me the most awesome baby kiss. It's like her way of saying "thank you." It is so sweet. Mackenzie also has waved, just once though real good. She's learning that's for sure.

Mommy bought me new pj's and can't believe they are size 6months! I hope my penguin costume still fits by the time Halloween rolls around!
Mom asked me to work the camera but I just want to grab the giraffe's on my footsies!

Mommy, Daddy, and Uncle Jason took me to the pumpkin patch today! I really like the pumpkins and tried to eat one, then I took a nose dive while trying to sit up. I'm ok though, just got a little dirty. I was very fascinated with the grass.

I can't believe our girl is 5 months old! Can someone please stop time? Mackenzie is just getting more and more fun as the days go by. She loves it when we make silly faces at her. She loves to have her cheek kissed and if you have looked at the video you know she loves to jump! She has 2 teeth and I think she might be trying to get a top tooth since once again, she's not sleeping at night very well. She wakes up just wanting to talk to you and cuddle. Which I love cuddling her but I need some sleep! Hmmm what else? Oh, she is trying very hard to sit up by herself, she rolls from back to tummy and tummy to back. Last Tuesday she was 12lbs 8 oz, that is a 3oz weight gain in one week! The most so far! She has mastered peaches, bananas, and sweet potatoes. And as you can see, she makes a big mess with it too!
Halloween is coming up and we bought her a penguin costume. Mostly because it is the smallest costume we could find. How the heck is a 0-9 month size costume supposed to fit a newborn and a 9month old? Who thinks of this stuff? It's very frustrating. So, we had to leave the monkey costume for someone else. Oh well. She'll be a cute penguin AND I remember Matt calling her "happy feet" during one of our ultrasound sessions so I think a penguin is perfect!

It the most awful thing I have ever seen. When Mac got home from daycare I checked her diaper, didn't seem wet at all nor did she smell. So a little later I go to change her and I see the reddest most chapped little butt. She's gotten diaper rash before, but not to this extent. It is awful. When I would wipe her she would start this crazy weird breathing that scared the heck out of Matt and I. Poor baby girl! This morning it seems to be getting better, not as spread all over. Thank God for Bordeaux's Butt Paste!

Weight: 12lbs 4 oz- 20th percentile
Height: 23 3/4 inches- 75th percentile
So Mackenzie is a little under weight, just a little. Dr. Muller isn't tooooo concerned about it but she would like us to increase her formula intake to about 8 oz, if Mac will drink it all. It's not that we aren't giving her enough, Mac is a very active baby. When we make her a 5oz bottle, she does NOT drink it all. Dr. Muller would like her to have a little bit more fat on her for the winter. She would also like us to increase her rice cereal intake to 3 times a day rather than just once. Other than her weight, our little girl is doing fabulous. Another round of immunizations has been started also. Again, Mackenzie was a trooper with her DTaP vaccine today. We'll see how much Mac can put down in a feeding!

Matt and Mackenzie got home at 7pm last night. Dinner was on the table and we sat down at the table for our first family dinner with Mac in her highchair. On the menu, spaghetti for us and rice cereal for Mac. Usually Matt and I eat in front of the t.v which is not something we want to teach Mac to do. So, family dinners at the table from now on. She enjoyed daycare from what Matt said. Apparently she got a little fussy in the afternoon but the teacher said that is normal, especially for the first day. I got smiles when she got home and I missed her so much. But by 8pm she was tired and cranky. I felt bad as I didn't get to see her all day and now that she's home she wants to go to bed. I'm sure she just has to get used to this new schedule. Usually she isn't ready for bed until 9:30 or 10 but I think the new environment tired her out. I got extra cuddles this morning during her nighttime feeding (2am) and then again before she left this morning. It's still weird not having her around during the day. I know once school starts I won't have time to think about that. Matt enjoys the company in the car during the drive to and from.

The house is too quiet. There are no giggles, babbles, or cries to be heard. Today is Mackenzie's first day at daycare and I am feeling a bit guilty for sending her there. I've been away from her before, but only for like 4 hours at the most. This is like 12 hours (an hour there and an hour back). She's only been gone for 25 minutes and I miss my little baby Mac already. Did I cry as I watched Matt drive off with her? Of course I did. I could have gone and dropped her off but like I said before, it takes an hour to get there. I probably wouldn't have let her go in! I am so excited for her to watch and interact with other babies but will the teachers take as good of care as I do? I know they are trained and certified and have lots of experience and I trust them, I really do! It's just hard letting go this early. It will be nice to have some "me" time before school starts in a couple weeks though. Here are some pictures of her before she left. I'll post an update to this entry tonight to let you know how she did.

We went to the Evergreen State Fair on Saturday. Mackenzie may not have realized she was at a fair, nor does she know what one is but, she had a fabulous time. Daddy took her and showed her pigs, rabbits, horses, sheep, and cows. She just stared at them. I can't wait until we can take her to a petting farm and have her imitate the animal sounds. She fell asleep from all of the commotion. Mac was such a good little girl and barely fussed at all. She loves to look at what's going on around her. We just love taking her places. She is sooooooooo much fun.
